Thesis Atlas is an AI-powered research title recommendation and scoring platform designed specifically for academic researchers, particularly students at Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) and other Indonesian universities.
Our platform helps researchers discover novel, impactful, and feasible research titles by leveraging advanced natural language processing, machine learning algorithms, and comprehensive academic databases.
Key features include:

1. Service Scope
Thesis Atlas provides:
- Research Title Generation: Generate recommendations based on your input description, keywords, and data access constraints
- Title Scoring & Analysis: Evaluate any research title with detailed scoring across Novelty, Impact, Feasibility, and Duplication Risk
Important: Thesis Atlas is a decision support tool, not a replacement for academic guidance. All recommendations should be reviewed and approved by your academic supervisor before proceeding.
2. Usage Policy
By using Thesis Atlas, you agree to:
- Use the platform for legitimate academic and research purposes only
- Provide accurate information about your academic status and research interests
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Acknowledge that generated titles are suggestions and require academic verification
- Respect intellectual property rights of referenced works
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit the platform's algorithms
Account Requirements: Some features require user registration with a valid, verified email address.
3. Payment System
Thesis Atlas uses a credit-based system for accessing premium features. Credits are consumed for title generation and scoring operations.
Payment Methods:
- Bank Transfer (BCA, Mandiri, BNI, BRI)
- E-Wallets (GoPay, OVO, DANA, ShopeePay)
- Credit/Debit Cards
- QRIS
All payments are processed securely through Midtrans, a payment gateway licensed by Bank Indonesia. We do not store your complete payment card information. Purchased credits do not expire but are non-transferable between accounts.
4. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Due to the digital nature of our services, all credit purchases are final and non-refundable once payment is confirmed and credits are added to your account.
Exceptions may be considered for:
- Technical errors: Payment processed but credits not added due to system error
- Duplicate charges: Multiple charges for a single transaction
- Unauthorized transactions: Demonstrable unauthorized usage
To request an exception review, contact support within 7 days with your order ID and explanation.
5. User Data Processing
We collect and process:
- Account Information: Email, name, education level, faculty, and study program for personalization
- Research Input Data: Descriptions, keywords, and preferences you provide (not shared publicly)
- Generated Results: Titles and scores stored in your account history
Data Retention: Your data is retained while your account is active. You may request account deletion to remove your personal data.
6. Third-Party Data Sources
Thesis Atlas integrates with academic databases for accurate scoring:
- Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad): Repository of thesis/dissertation titles for duplication checking
- Scopus (Elsevier): International academic database for global research trends and novelty assessment
- CrossRef: DOI registration database for metadata verification
- OpenAI: AI language models (GPT-4) for natural language processing and title generation
Data from these sources is used solely for providing our services and processed according to each provider's terms.
7. Tracking & Internal Statistics
We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve our services:
- Usage Metrics: Number of titles generated, scoring requests, feature usage patterns
- Performance Data: Response times, error rates, system health metrics
- Aggregate Statistics: Popular research domains, trending topics (anonymized)
This data is used internally for service improvement. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for advertising. We use essential cookies for session management only—no third-party tracking cookies.
8. Automated Email Communications
By creating an account, you consent to receive:
- Account Verification: OTP codes for email verification and password reset
- Payment Receipts: Invoice and receipt emails after successful purchases
- Service Notifications: Important updates about your account or service changes
Transactional emails cannot be opted out. Marketing emails, if any, will include an unsubscribe option.
9. Result Accuracy Disclaimer
Thesis Atlas uses AI and statistical methods. While we strive for accuracy, results are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate and should be verified independently.
Factors affecting accuracy:
- Database Coverage: May not include all published works, especially very recent publications
- Language Limitations: Accuracy may vary between Indonesian and English titles
- Domain Specificity: Specialized or emerging fields may have limited reference data
- AI Limitations: Language models may occasionally generate unexpected results
Recommendation: Always verify titles with your academic supervisor and conduct your own literature review.
10. Technical Restrictions & Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Automated scraping, crawling, or data extraction
- Attempting to reverse-engineer our algorithms or AI models
- Circumventing rate limits or abusing API endpoints
- Creating multiple accounts to exploit free tier limitations
- Sharing account credentials or reselling access
- Using the platform for illegal or unethical purposes
- Attempting to compromise system security
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
11. Security & Data Protection
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- Data Encryption: All data transmitted is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS)
- Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
- Database Security: Data stored in secure, access-controlled systems with regular backups
- Payment Security: Payments processed by PCI-DSS compliant gateway (Midtrans)
While we take security seriously, no system is completely immune. Use strong, unique passwords and report suspicious activity.
12. Third-Party Services
Your use of integrated services is subject to their respective terms:
- Elsevier Scopus API: Academic database queries
- Midtrans: Payment processing
- OpenAI API: AI text generation
- Mailgun: Transactional email delivery
We are not responsible for the availability, policies, or practices of third-party services.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Thesis Atlas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Academic consequences resulting from reliance on our recommendations
- Damages from service interruptions or unavailability
- Issues caused by third-party services or external factors
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to Thesis Atlas in the 12 months preceding the claim. Use at your own risk—final decisions should be made with qualified academic advisors.
14. Intellectual Property Rights
- Our Property: The Thesis Atlas platform, including design, algorithms, code, and branding, are our intellectual property
- Your Content: You retain ownership of your research ideas. Generated titles may be used freely for your academic purposes
- License: By using our service, you grant us a non-exclusive license to process your input for providing recommendations. We do not claim ownership of your research ideas
- Third-Party Content: References to academic works remain property of their respective authors and publishers
15. Changes to Terms & Conditions
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made:
- The "Last updated" date will be revised
- Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms
Review these terms periodically. If you disagree with changes, you may discontinue using the service.
